GD Rectifiers helps customers future-proof their designs by identifying components not for new designs

In the fast-moving industry of power electronics, GD Rectifiers works hard to  identify the components not recommended for new designs (NRND). GD Rectifiers works closely with manufacturing partners to identify end-of-life, obsolescence and NRND products to help customers to avoid using them for new designs.

GD Rectifiers publishes relevant product change notices (PCNs) and product discontinuation notices (PDNs) to their blog to keep customers up to date with the latest information on component obsolescence. We actively encourage our customers to read our blog frequently for the latest news and updates.

Our dedicated sales team also communicate PCN and PDNs to our customers that have call-off or scheduled orders on with us for the specific parts so that they can plan and manage their inventory, mitigating any unnecessary delays and disruption to their supply chain.

GD Rectifiers understands how important it is to get the design stage right, which is why we work with customers from initial concept through to install, we collaborate with companies and advise component recommendations based on the application, budget and timescales of a project. We also look at costing analysis for maintenance and the lifecycle of the application to determine which component would be most suitable based on performance, reliability and cost.

We liaise with factories daily so we know as soon as a product is made obsolete or is being phased out, ensuring we’re best placed to advise customers on suitable components. We’re confident in providing replacement components in lieu of parts on a long lead time, we understand time is of the essence and delays can cause unnecessary stress and financial penalties to projects, that’s why we work with customers to develop a list of replacement parts in case the situation was to arise.
