Capsule Thyristors
Capsule type thyristors, also known as SCR’s, are assembled with glass passivated chips and are manufactured in highly reliable, robust hermetic sealed housing structures. These devices are mechanically strong and are able to sustain negative environmental conditions.
Semikron Capsule Thyristors
Semikron manufacture a wide range of discrete capsule (disc type) thyristors used for high power applications. Semikron’s range of thyristors feature phase control types for current ratings up to 1200A with blocking and reverse voltages up to 1800V.
Semikron’s capsule thyristors are typically used in soft-starters, resistance heating, static switches, battery chargers, welding equipment and static excitation applications.
