IXYS AC Controller Thyristors

IXYS offer a wide range of AC controller thyristors ranging from 30-650A. The thyristor is designed to provide elctrical isolation between the base plate of the module and the parts, subject to voltage conventional multilayer module construction by the direct copper bonding (DCB) technique. IXYS’ AC controller modules are available in two standardised twin plugs for gate and auxiliary cathode control terminals. The AC controller modules feature: direct copper bonded AI203-ceramic, excellent long-term stability of blocking currents and blocking voltages and planar passivated chips.

They are used in a wide raage of applications including: motor drive and control, lighting and power management.

IXYS’ Triac design is the combination of two thyristor technologies, instead of using two back to back thyristors with two separated gates, IXYS uses proprietary anode gated thyristor technology to integrate AC controllers with two complementing as one lead.

The Triac design offers superior performance and is used in numerous power control design applications.
