Clamps for Capsules

GD Rectifiers manufacture a large range of high quality press-pack semiconductor heatsink clamps designed for mounting contact faces up to 140mm with forces ranging from 3kN to 80kN. GD Rectifiers offer three types of clamps for semiconductor capsules: box clamps, bar clamps and spring bar clamps, used for single-sided or double-sided cooling applications in high powered semiconductor assemblies. In addition to our standard range of box, bar and spring bar clamps, GD Rectifiers can design and manufacture semiconductor clamps to specific customer requirements and applications.

The semiconductor clamps apply a force that minimises both electrical and thermal resistance ensuring the semiconductor remains in close contact with the heatsink and busbars, allowing the circuit to operate as intended. GD Rectifiers also have the capability to increase or decrease the clamping forces that the clamps exert, making them suitable for a wider range of capsules. Both single sided or double sided bar clamps, box clamps and flat based conversion kits are available. 

GD Rectifiers semiconductor clamps have been specifically designed to meet the requirements of all semiconductor manufacturers to optimise maximum performance from the devices and are used in heatsink and power assemblies. GD Rectifiers offers a large range of air-cooled and liquid-cooled heatsinks, and a comprehensive range of power assemblies in many circuit configurations are available for fast delivery.

Our clamps are suitable to be used with all semiconductor manufacturer's components and devices. 

Box Clamp Style

Box clamps are used with puk and capsule style semiconductors that require single-sided cooling. Box clamps are used in conjunction with internal spring washers allowing the correct force to be applied when the four bolts are tightened enabling contact with the heatsink. This range of high quality, precision box clamps have a maximum force of up to 40kN.

Bar Clamp 

Bar clamps are designed to be used with puk and capsule style semiconductors that require double-sided cooling. This range of high quality, precision bar clamps have a maximum force of up to 45kN.

Spring Bar Clamp  

Our traditional spring bar and indicating clamping system supports the full range of semiconductor devices. This range of high quality, precision clamps have a maximum force of up to 80kN.
