High Voltage Fuses

SIBA’s high voltage fuses have parallel connected pure silver fuse elements. The design ensures narrow tolerances of time-current characteristics. SIBA’s fuse elements are wound on a ceramic support and are attached to the silver plated connection caps by means of spot-welding. The connection caps are fitted inside the silver plated copper end caps by spot welding and the end caps are press-fitted onto the porcelain tube. The end caps are mechanically fixed to the tube and additionally sealed by a durable elastic sealing medium.

SIBA’s high voltage fuse-links are used as protection devices in medium voltage switchgear. A major advantage of the HV fuses is the very fast current limiting operation in the event of a short circuit failures. They protect switchgear and equipment against dynamic thermal affects of such short circuits in a very effective way. SIBA’s high voltage fuse-links are used to protect: distribution transformers, motor circuits, capacitor banks, voltage transformers and cable feeders.

Features:

  • Reliable sealing system against humidity, dust and corrosion
  • Free of aging
  • Low power losses and low temperature rise
  • High breaking capacity
  • Fast current limitation
  • Low switching voltage
  • High severe reliability because of advanced controlled fabrication process
  • Many decades of positive field experience

SIBA’s high voltage fuse-links are suitable for: indoor switchgear, outdoor switchgear, overhead lines, service under severe climatic conditions, installation in oil-insulated switchgear or inside distribution transformers under oil.

SIBA’s high voltage fuse range offers reliable protection for your products, they also have an R&D department that are capable of meeting custom requirements.

Miniature Fuses

SIBA’s miniature fuses are automatic switchgears that protect electrical plants, appliances and modules from inadmissibly high current loads. SIBA’s miniature fuses are used to safeguard power supplies and power output amplifiers in consumer electronics. They are commonly used in industrial applications as primary fuses, where in the event of a fault they separate the defective module from the voltage supply in order to predict greater damage.
