IXYS Discrete Thyristors
IXYS offers a large range of discrete thyristors, including SCR, TRIAC, SIDAC, QUADRAC, fast thyristors, GTO thyristors, medium voltage thyristors and phase control thyristors
Discrete thyristors act as unidirectional or bidirectional solid state switches and overvoltage protection devices in electronic equipment. Ideal for a wide range of applications including motor speed, lighting and heater controls.
IXYS Discrete Thyristors
- They are solid state switches that are usually open circuits (very high impedance)
- They are capable of withstanding rated blocking/off-state voltage until triggered to on state
- When triggered to on-state, they become a low-impedance current path until the principle current either stops or drops below a minimum holding level
- After a thyristor is triggered to on-state condition, the trigger current can be removed without turning off the device
