Our top five highlights from this year’s show include:

1.     Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi demonstrated a mobile system that integrates an AGV (automatic guided vehicle) with a robotic arm. Developed with the AGV manufacturer Mirage, the system combines Mitsubishi’s Melfa SafePlus zoned speed control with standard AGV movements. Resulting in a robot that can deploy itself it to be used for checking, packing and loading in different areas of a factory, depending on production cycles and batch process requirements.

2.     Schneider Electric

Schneider Electric’s stand was extremely busy, they showcased some of it’s production and manufacturing supply chain technologies, including robotics and augmented reality.

3.     X-STK/Applied Automation

X-STK demonstrated universal robot’s arms fitted with OnRobot grippers designed for use with collaborative use. The grippers have customisable fingertips so there is no need for an external cable and users can sense if they are starting to lose gip.

4.     Tec Electric Motors

Tec Electric Motors, a large independent stockist of electric motors showcased a range of UK-made inverters at this year’s show.

5.     ABB

ABB returned to the Drives and Controls exhibition this year displaying n array of technologies – the latest developments in its Ability Smart Senor for LV motors, a new condition monitoring module that allows precise, real-time monitoring of machinery.
